Rotten Cincinnati Bengals Ripoff & Fleece Taxpayers Every Chance They Get

At the same time a new study said suburban poverty is up in the Cincinnati region, the greedy Cincinnati Bengals football team billed Hamilton County, Ohio $900,000 for new turf for Paul Brown Stadium. The county must pay this money due to a taxpayer-fleecing contract it signed with the Bengals.

Hamilton County is where Cincinnati is located and is the largest county in the Cincinnati area.

Already Hamilton County taxpayers have given the Bengals hundreds of millions of dollars for construction and upkeep of Paul Brown Stadium. Now the Bengals want nearly a million dollars more.

The Bengals are never called to account for this money. The promise was that Cincinnati and the Cincinnati region would benefit from having an NFL team. The fact of increasing poverty in the region would appear to tell a different story.

The fault for this terrible waste of money rests in the end with the people of Cincinnati & Hamilton County. It is a given that the Bengals will take every dollar they can get and that their political allies will make sure the team is protected. No reasonable person expects the Bengals to do anything but cheat the public. That is what they do.

It is the people of Hamilton County who have acquiesced to this scam. It is the very same people who must work and fight to take back control of local government from the Bengals and their political henchmen.

  1. send them all packing. we can turn the stadium into a stocked fishing lake.

  2. Thankfully the elected county commissioners who “negotiated” the contract with the Bengals have since been thrown out. In fact Bob Bedinghaus, who led the stadium effort, was the first republican to lose an election for Hamilton County Commissioner in over two decades (I believe that’s the number).
There is no irony in the fact that he now works for the Bengals.

  3. My daughter and I have now named all the idiots in the city whodey’s. So when we see some white trash family driving and smoking in their car with the infant in the moms lap smoking we look over and say there is a whodey. when the tax payers care more about the football games then the public schools and throw all their trash in the street and leave downtown a mess we say the whodey’s have been here. Its not easy living in whodeyville but we get by and are grateful we have a place to live and roof over our heads and parks to go to and the river is not bad and we like the zoo, So in short we are fine in whodeyville for now. Dave and George and Kevin live here as well.

  5. Is there anything we can do to stop this Bengal nonesense?!? What about the non-Bengal fans in Cincinnati? No offense to anyone out there, but I’m a Steeler fan myself and I don’t want to pay taxes to a team I don’t like. I say that the Bengals need to get away from the Brown family so Bill Cower can coach properly!

Whodey, Whodey, Whodey gonna think is gonna pay for the city?!?!
