Image, Source: digital file from original neg.

Above is a picture of a Sunday school class at the Manzanar Relocation Center taken 1943.

The Manzanar Relocation Center was an internment camp in California for Japanese people and people of Japanese descent during the Second World War.

This picture was taken by Ansel Adams. Here is information on the life of the famous photographer Ansel Adams.

Here is a link to this picture. If you click the link you will find access to more pictures kindred to this one at the American Memory Project of the Library of Congress.

Here is information on Japanese internment camps from PBS.

The Manzanar location is now a National Historic Site run by the National Park Service.

Farewell to Manzanaris a book by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James Houston about life at Manzanar.

Dorothea Lange took the picture below of the barracks at Manzanar in 1942. Here is information on Dorothea Lange.

The picture at the top of this post has kids at Sunday school. The picture at the bottom has the U.S. Flag. They had God and country at Manzanar. They just did not have any of the rights people that some assert come hand-in-hand with God and country.

These type camps are something that can happen again in the United States. It’s not impossible to imagine people deemed alien or some type of threat put into camps in the name of God and country.
