Texas Progressive Alliance Round-Up With Reminder That 44% of Texans Voted For Barack Obama

Below is the weekly Texas Political Alliance round-up. The Texas Progressive Alliance is a confederation of the best political bloggers in Texas.

Also, as I run the round-up this week, I’d like to point that in last year’s Presidential election 44% of Texas voters supported Barack Obama.

I’m not someone always quick to leap to the defense of Texas, but it does get tiring sometimes to hear from people who are surprised Texas has any liberals. We’ve got millions of people here and there are plenty of liberals.

Here is the CNN politics site, which has results for Texas in last year’s election along with exit poll results  saying that a majority of folks 29 and under in Texas voted for Mr. Obama.

I don’t know when Texas will start voting for Democrats in state elections, but there are many Democrats and liberals in Texas.
