Texas Liberal Is Best Blog In Texas

Here’s why Texas Liberal is the best political blog in Texas. (And possibly beyond Texas.)

Texas Liberal is a good blog because I respect your intelligence with quality daily blogging on political opinion, history, books, marine mammals and many other subjects.

I know that you the blog reader has many different interests.

Texas Liberal covers both local and global issues. New categories include both Houston Council ’07 and Burma Protests.

I run thought-provoking series such as Central Questions, Turning 40, Marine Mammal of the Week, Four For The Fourth and the new Let’s Help Our Blogger Friends Around The World.

I sometimes run Reading Lists. I know you like to read.

Texas Liberal is the only political blog I know of to run this great drawing of Astrapotherium magnum being bothered by Phorusrhacos longissimus. The bird is also known as “The Terror Bird.”

Also, I love my wife very much. I have family values. Please click here for a great picture of my wife.

Posts I’ve written have been linked to by Crooks and Liars, Slate, The Agonist and rebecca’s pocket. I’m a featured political blogger at the Houston Chronicle and I blog at Where’s The Outrage?  —Home of the Errington Thompson podcast.

Most of all, Texas Liberal is the best blog in Texas because I share this distinction with such great blogs as —-Jobsanger , B and BWho’s Playin’?Brains & EggsFeet to the FireSouth Texas ChismePanhandle Truth SquadBlue BlogginThe Texas CloverleafMusings, Greg’s Opinon and many others.

Consistent with my left-views on economic questions, the best things are things that are shared.

Please read Texas Liberal often.

  1. Just wanted to say thanks for including me on your list. Best blog or not, you are always on my daily reading list.

As for the TPA, I’m not exactly sure how one gets in. I was invited to join by a member (and accepted) and several of the blogs list me as a member. But as you can see by his comment above, Vince doesn’t consider me a member.

Maybe it’s because I haven’t coughed up the $500 and been jumped in yet (love ya, Whosplayin!).

  2. I think Vince just forgot.

  3. If I had a blog it would be way better than this.

Neil, I do have to thank you for bringing my attention to the totally great book A World without us.

    Thanks.

  4. We at Panhandle Truth Squad don’t even know what the TPA is. We’re guessing from the name that it’s based in Texas– and therefore wouldn’t be aware of our existence.

That doesn’t apply to Texas Liberal. Texas Liberal is quite nice and we’d much rather be on Texas Liberal’s list. Texas Liberal is far nicer, in fact, than we are. Panhandle Truth Squad is (are?) mean bastards, probably far too mean to be in anyone’s alliance.

Panhandle Truth Squad would, however, be the best blog in Texas if the Panhandle were part of Texas. Except for jobsanger, that is.

  5. I must disagree. I might be a little biased, but I think my blog, Common Sense, is the best blog in Texas. And not just because I’m one of the founding TPA blogs. I was profiled in Texas Monthly by editor Evan Smith way back when blogging was still “new” to Texas politics… July 2005! I’ve also done numerous TV interviews and appearances, my fave being the 2-parter on me that KBTX in Bryan-College Station did on me for sweeps week that same year. You know your good when a camera crew will travel 100 miles to your house to interview you.

I’m not married and I don’t really have family values. Most of my Myspace friends are porn stars and I hang out with strippers in my off hours.

I blog about everything, including books and movies. And strippers.

I have a dog named “The Jesus.”

I honestly can’t tell you who else is in the TPA since I haven’t updated my blogroll in over a year. Mine still says Pink Dome is a member and he left. It’s been a while since I went drinking with him. Imma have to call him up.

I have seen Muse’s boobies in person (mind out of the gutter she was fully clothed) and Job Sanger, too. We had a fine time at our TPA Blogger Caucus get-together at last year’s state convention. What up homies?

Oh, and my mom says mine is the bestest blog ever, so beat that hot shot!

  6. CitizenX: My wife bought “The World Without Us”. I’ve read a few chapters of it, and think it’s really interesting.

  10. It may well be the best blog in Texas–y’all can fight about that. I would like to just ask that you add a link to my blog to your blogroll. Thanks.
