Texas Liberal

All People Matter

Rick Noriega & John Glenn

I’m putting a $75 donation to Rick Noriega for the United States Senate from Texas in the mail today.

Mr. Noriega is running in a primary for the chance to oppose no-good incumbent Republican Senator John Cornyn.

The last time I voted for a winning senate candidate was for John Glenn  (above) in Ohio in 1992. I’ve struck out since then.

Reggie Jackson is the batter who has struck out the most times in baseball history.

Jackson once said he was “The straw that stirs the drink.”

Both Mr. Noriega and Mr. Glenn have military service on their records. To my knowledge, Mr. Noriega has not flown into space.

I’m sending money to Mr. Noriega with the hope that Texas can be a better place.

Mr. Noriega has promised to refund my donation with interest should he run a lousy campaign.

That’s a joke.

As he often does, fellow Texas blogger Jobsanger makes the case in a persuasive and gentle fashion.

  1. Thank you for the support (although I must admit I’ve never thought of myself as “kind”).

  3. Actually, jobsanger (and you) aren’t listed as Bloggers for Rick because I’m not in the habit of listing folks as endorsers without their permission.

If either of you (or any other bloggers) would like to be on the DRN Bloggers for Rick blogroll, I’d be delighted to add you.

    You have only to say.

  4. No.No…I’m on the list as I did ask many weeks ago.

I guess words written on a computer don’t convey tone so well.

I really don’t know what Jobsanger wants in life. Maybe a good 5 cent cigar.

In any case, I sent my $75 and that’s the bottom line.

  5. Happy to have that support, Neil. I should have checked the list again before I commented. I misunderstood that part of your post.

I did contact Jobsanger, and with his permission, he’s now added to the Bloggers for Rick list at http://www.draftricknoriega.com
