Gay Lifestyle Taking Over Galveston,Texas

The Houston Chronicle reports today that more gay people are moving to Galveston, Texas.
(Above—Galveston.)
Galveston is 50 miles south of Houston and is on the sunny shores of the Gulf of Mexico.
From the article–
“With its laid-back lifestyle and low cost of living, Galveston promises to become the gay tourist mecca and residential center of the South, said activist-publisher Laura Villagran, who earlier this month opened the city’s first gay and lesbian visitor’s center….
Curtiss Brown, a longtime Galveston political observer who has lived on the island more than three decades, suggested that scrutinizing the island through a prism of gay life is “putting a magnifying glass on an elephant.”
“It’s more broad than that,” he said, arguing that the city’s history as an immigration port and its devastating 1900 hurricane contributed to a far-reaching tolerance. “We learned that we just couldn’t afford prejudice.”
Of course we know that when gays come, so does the gay lifestyle.
You’ll find these people shopping at the grocery store, taking the trash out, going to movies and taking their cars in for oil changes. Some may even borrow books from the library or take the dog out for a walk.
Gays do these things in full public view.
Will gays stop at nothing as they work to convert others to the homosexual lifestyle?

What’s the green bar on the map? Is it the Border Wall, meaning the gays are banished to the west end of the island, where there is no seawall to protect them from a hurricane?
Or is it the Green Zone (where heteros can be “safe”)?
That’s Galveston Island State Park where these wild gay folks might go for a hike or look at the beach. Once straight people see gays taking a nature walk, they might want to do the same. Next thing you know they will decide to become gay themselves—See how clever these gay folks are!
They should be happy. Gay people come into run down, worn out, towns and transform them into more desirable areas with higher property values and fancy condos. Galveston could become the new Miami. If only they would stop protecting stray cats.
If anybody could turn Galveston into Miami that would sure be amazing. It would have to be gays with magic powers like gay wizards or a gay witch or warlock.
dumbledore? the gay potter wizard?

… I think this is gay.
I applaud you for your factual report on “Gay Lifestyle Taking Over Galveston,Texas”. This is true and many homes are being sold quickly there. You can even find Historical Homes being sold phenomenally low. There are even Victorian Homes much like the Heights in Houston that are being sold as low as $170′s. Unbelieveable!! There was an open house on 1019 Sealy I had attended that is simply a diamond in the rough without a doubt! I guess the reason why I like it so much is because it reminds me of the Heights and it’s perfectly walking distance to the beach and the Strand and the price is just awesome. The reason why I didn’t buy it was because our loan fell through.
The path of the hurricane is no where to live. you might buy cheap now but when the ocean swallows galvinston it will look like new orleans. buyer beware.
Maricela–Thanks for the comment. I hope you are able to get the home you want.
Bill—It is true that the destruction of much of the island was pretty much the projection leading up to Hurricane Rita.
Did not happen though!
Because there have been so much on this subject for years, sometimes there is little to add, BUT it’s not that I don’t like the person, I just don’t like the Life Style. I have been accosted by them in the past and I hated it, still do. I believe that all people are protected by law, but the life style is not. People complain about the Christian’s; well this is what this Country was Founded on and for Supreme Court Judges to miss interpret this and to say that life style gays should be protected as Gays, is wrong. Gays say: do not force your Christian life style on me; well what do you think the Gays are doing? I still say: marriage is based on; one man – one woman. So, if we don’t like being forced to except your life style, why should we be tagged as law breakers or insensitive? Look at all the laws that protect different races and life styles, except the Christians.
You don’t protect the already protected (Christians).
Tom’s lousy comment got by me, but I’m glad Patrick here made his point. Nobody is forcing anything on anybody. It’s about just about letting people be as they were born or made or however you would like to term it.
So this is so stupid! Speek your mind if you want but don’t judge people and lifestyles. If people turn Gay then that’s thier own deal. no one EVER forces it on them! Whether they take out the trash, hold hands on the beach, go play putt putt with thier adopted child, they are just the same as any couple who deserve a good vacation or a beautiful place like Galveston to Live.
There are gay people everywhere…Uh some Republican Senators and officials seem to be becoming sme of the worst and most closeted bunch of haters around. But wait these are the same people that are spouting the whole “Family Values” crap, the turn around and solicit young men in airport bathrooms and interns. OH, but they say god’s name and everyone seems to forgive them. Pretty twisted if you ask me……I am a brother of a successful gay man here in Dallas, TX. He has a stunning home in Dallas, donates to The Methodist church and attends reguarly, adopted a great underprivilidged child with his partner and leads an happy life, so don’t throw your supposedly ‘Christian” hate to others, I am a Christian myself, but some “Christians” are the worst bigots and hate mongers I know…Have you heard of the Westboro Baptist Church in Westboro, Kansas..you tube it….
Paul–Thanks for the comment. Gay folks are indeed all around.
So…….. basically, this is not the place for a single-straight female like myself to move hoping to find love???? Back to the drawing board…
gay people has been arould as long if longer than prositutes, and man has got alone, so what big deal he’s gay i’m gay, being gay aint gonna jump out and grab you and turn you or anyone else gay unless you are already gay in the closet. I think there should be a nude beach so every one can go to it gay, straight, whoever and enjoy the feeling of freedom, texas has the else where, oh i forgot we have a governor that pushes his belief on people.
