Texas Hispanics Not Yet Taking Steps Needed For Political Power
Analysis of demographic trends suggests that by 2040 the population of Texas will be between 53% and 59% Hispanic. Whites will comprise between 25% and 33% of the population in that year.
So far, Hispanics lag behind the population as a whole in education and are more likely than Anglos to be poor. Despite protests earlier this year against mean-spirited immigration legislation, Hispanics are seemingly failing to exert themselves in the 2006 Election.
Conservative Anglos have run Texas since Statehood. You could argue they have run Texas into the ground. Conservative Anglo politics have often been based on maintaining white power at the expense of Blacks and Mexicans. The result of this emphasis is a poor and under-uneducated state.
What will the future look like in Texas? Will the coming demographic majority find the leadership needed to prepare itself for political rule? Or will a reactionary Anglo minority find a way to hold power?

Okay, so they don’t wanna vote! Is this a solution – have their employers bus them to and from the polls, feasible?
If that occurs, will the employers or the workers be taken into custody for illegal hiring practices, etc….?
It becomes a tiresome subject, doesn’t it, because there’s no legal, lawful, congressional solution?

There is a solution to the problem illegal aliens in the country… enforce existing laws. Are liberals so desperate to gain control of our government that they’ll condone the breaking our laws such as committing voter fraud?
I’m not aware of any current case of voter fraud in Texas involving Hispanics–Or anyone else for that matter. Has any case of voter fraud been brought to trial in Texas? The supression of the minority vote is the historic story of Texas elections. It went on for years and years. Nobody did a thing about it until that great Texas President Lyndon Johnson. At the core of people’s fears is not voter fraud or even immigration. It’s about losing power.

That is the dumbest statement I’ve ever seen in my life. You can’t be serious. Do you really live in that thought pattern? Clueless. Racist.
Please pick up a history book. I’m not fully at-ease with mentioning a specific ethnic group as a cause of the long-term problems we have here in Texas. But white skin was used as the very reason people should vote as they did. In the South you had the white-only primary and a big foundation of the Democratic party in the South in those years was that people with white skin should run things. And that is just what happened.
